Paul Graver commenced Funeral Directing under the name “ Personal Funerals” in 1995 after much research into the industry. Our ancestry tells us that there was a Jonas Graver who was a grave digger in Yorkshire England in 1367 (sourced from Church records). We know of no others since who have taken up the profession.

Personal Funerals are one of the few family owned Funeral Homes that have remained independent from the Large Corporate Companies  that operate in the Eastern States with branches here in Perth. Because we are a small family owned business we are able to offer a more personalised service that the public owned ones cannot.We can also honestly advertise that our family is here to serve your family.and you are also able to talk to the owner of the business if you wish!

Paul is the senior member of the family and the Funeral Director responsible for the business. Barbara,Pauls wife, manages the office and generaly keeps us on our toes. Simon, our eldest Son, is currently working hard to take over the operation ready for our upcoming retirement ( if that ever eventuates).David, our youngest Son, is a CA ( Certified Accountant) and oversees the financial aspects of the business as well as his own business interests.We hope that one day young Finley and Blake, Daughter -in- Law Ursula and David’s partner Jillian, will hopefully carry on the business when our retirement days are upon  us.

Our vision is for the business to continue to prosper by remaining an independent family owned and operated business; keeping that personal touch,and keeping our overheads low,thereby keeping our prices affordable to all.

We are licensed Funeral Directors and have our own premises. We are members of the Chamber Of Commerce and Industry, APPRA and also the IFDAA ( Independent Funeral Directors Association of Australia).

Paul is a member of the Household Cavalry Association (Blues and Royals) RSL ( Ocean Reef branch). British ex Serviceman’s Association and the Guards Association of WA. He is also an accomplished musician.
